When Lorenzo Pinardi had the idea of transforming “Pinardi Costruzioni Meccaniche” into a fashion brand, he didn’t give up the original name. On the contrary. He wanted that name to tell a unique story: that of an unexpected origin, of an unconventional path. “Costruzioni Meccaniche” in fashion is a statement of identity, a way to communicate from the first glance that behind the style there is a solid history of craftsmanship, precision and a vision that can unite apparently distant worlds. It is a brand that does not forget where it comes from, but looks with determination towards the future of fashion.

The Gift
I clearly remember the days of my adolescence , a time when dreams seemed more tangible than reality. I had a deep intuition of what I was passionate about, of what I was destined to do (COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE). And among these presentiments, there was the logo. I saw it in my mind, a clear and defined image, as if it had always been there, just waiting to be revealed. This sensation strengthened during my childhood. I remember the masses, when Don Pellegrino pronounced the words: 'Say only one word and you will be saved'. At that moment, almost as a game, I whispered
in the ear of my friend next to me "a!" A simple letter, but for me it represented much more (perhaps someone from above was listening to me), it was the beginning, the starting point of everything that would come after. It was my logo, in a nutshell, taking shape. For years, mechanical constructions have been my path,
but it has always been the logo, that primordial image, that has guided me to my true creative destination.
The Enlightenment
"It was 2009, I was coming out of a difficult period and that summer I felt reborn. I was full of energy, with a crazy desire to conquer the world and my mind full of ideas, including MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTIONS. I remember the nights in the bedroom, with the shutters open. The noise of the neighbor's engine revving and the headlights pointing toward my room kept me awake. I thought those headlights were illuminating my frosted glass chandelier, creating flashes that annoyed me.
After closing the shutters, I noticed that the flashes of light continued. They were not the neighbor's headlights, but the chandelier itself that was emitting these strange flashes. I called them "lanterns". As time went by, I began to notice a strange coincidence: often, when new ideas or thoughts came to mind, the chandelier seemed to "light up", emitting a lamppost. This phenomenon fascinated me all summer, keeping me company and making me dream of a future full of creativity."
The rule
When I created the Pinardi brand, among the three options - Mechanical Construction, Food Tech and Plants - I undoubtedly chose the first. At first it seemed like a boundless field, and in fact it was, because instead of dedicating myself to mechanical constructions I immersed myself in the world of fashion. Over time, however, I discovered many affinities between these two sectors (e.g. hardware and haberdashery). I think I found an unwritten rule that explains this connection: what is the synonym of 'mechanical constructions'? We could say 'machines'. And what are machines? They are tailor-made for the customer, created to satisfy specific and functional needs.
